Welcome to our Witchboard Case Study page. Here, we demonstrate how Cphere’s advanced technology platform and data-driven insights deliver measurable results for entertainment releases.
Witchboard was a landmark project—the first film from a Web3 company to achieve a nationwide theatrical release, powered by Gala. While the box office faced challenges, the campaign itself broke ground in how blockchain-backed entertainment was brought to mainstream audiences.
Cphere led both the theatrical advertising and the home entertainment push that followed, deploying AI-powered, cross platform strategies to maximize visibility and engagement. From building anticipation ahead of release, to sustaining digital momentum with “Buy or Rent Now” urgency, our campaigns achieved expansive reach, strong cultural and genre-specific audience penetration, and consistently high-performing KPIs across channels.

Ahead of the nationwide release of Witchboard, Cphere designed and executed a strategic campaign to support a landmark moment in entertainment—the first film from a Web3 company to reach nationwide theaters. Powered by the Gala, the initiative focused on building cultural visibility and measuring how AI-optimized, unified campaigns could generate awareness at scale. The campaign tested multiple creative approaches—including countdown-driven urgency ads, cast-forward narrative trailers, and narrative-driven :15, :30, and :60 clips—tailored for platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Complementary placements across DOOH, rideshare, and in-theater digital displays extended visibility into physical environments, reinforcing last-mile awareness.
By leveraging first-party data from CinemaCloudWorks, Cphere precisely targeted moviegoers in key markets while also unlocking new high-performing audiences, including gaming and cannabis segments, which became some of the most engaged pools. Hyperlocal theater geofences further amplified results. Across the campaign, Cphere’s AI-driven optimization continuously redirected spend to the best-performing creatives, ensuring efficiency and maximizing cultural impact. Cphere’s Creative Studio added another layer of visibility with high-impact animated assets designed to capture attention across digital and physical screens. These creative elements elevated awareness and recall, driving measurable KPIs such as 96.9M YouTube impressions at a $0.09 CPC, 31.1M TikTok views, 21K+ followers, 83.4K Instagram reactions, and 2.1M+ DOOH impressions. Together, these outcomes positioned Witchboard not only as a horror release but as a historic milestone in Web3’s entry into mainstream entertainment.
